The racing instinct of the charming actor Brad Pitt, even with wrinkles, is captivating.
‘F1 The Movie’, which hits the screen on the 25th, is about a veteran driver, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), who has not become the best, joining the lowest-ranked team and racing of a lifetime with a genius rookie driver.
Sonny Hayes was once a promising talent but fell from grace after a terrible accident that prevented him from winning in F1.
One day, his long-time colleague Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) comes to him with a proposal to return to racing. After much contemplation, Sonny Hayes joins APXGP but constantly clashes with the rising genius driver Joshua Pierce (Damson Idris). The APXGP team also struggles to escape the bottom ranks. What kind of conclusion will the race, which holds the fate of both thirsty for victory, reach?
The main storyline of the movie is not new. The generational gap and conflict between the two, who call each other “old man” and “attention seeker,” and the development leading to a bromance is a narrative familiar from other works. The long running time may also be a barrier for some viewers.

Nevertheless, what makes ‘F1 The Movie’ attractive is that it builds the story of the two characters layer by layer while bursting with exquisite timing, making it impossible to take your eyes off.
Director Joseph Kosinski, who handled fighter jets in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, fully conveys the charm of racing in ‘F1 The Movie’. The tension is heightened by alternating between the faces and feet of the racers in racing cars and aerial shots, complemented by an OST that stimulates the ears, creating admiration.
The film captures the vivid atmosphere by filming on actual Grand Prix locations around the world. In fact, the vehicles in the movie were real F1 racing cars that took to the grid during the filming of the 2023 British Grand Prix, thanks to F1's collaboration.
Racing drivers seen in the Netflix documentary ‘F1: Drive to Survive’ also make cameo appearances, adding to the excitement. Notably, the living legend of F1, Lewis Hamilton, participated in the production, enhancing the film's quality with detailed advice.
Brad Pitt's presence is undeniable. Despite the passage of time, he leads the film with his unique aura. Brad Pitt, who enjoys biking, underwent months of training to reach the level of an F1 driver under Lewis Hamilton's coaching and even drove a real racing car at high speeds.
Thanks to the efforts of the production team and actors, an attractive work has been born. The power to immerse viewers in scenes where the protagonist races for 0.1 seconds is embodied by Brad Pitt.
Releasing on the 25th. Rated for ages 12 and up. Running time 155 minutes.
