New stills have been released showcasing the generational acting chemistry between Shin Gu and Park Jin-young, who are playing dual roles in ‘Hi-Five’.
The movie ‘Hi-Five’ is a comic action drama that tells the story of five individuals who accidentally gain different superpowers through organ transplants and encounter those who seek to exploit their abilities. The character of Yeong-chun, played by both actors in a dual role as the main villain, has garnered attention for its unique setting, and the photos of Shin Gu and Park Jin-young, who delivered a seamless performance, have caught the public's eye.
The stills capture the striking resemblance between Shin Gu and Park Jin-young as Yeong-chun, who has rapidly rejuvenated due to a superpower that absorbs youth after receiving a pancreas transplant.
In a two-shot where they are dressed in the same outfit, the chillingly similar expressions of the two create a surprising high level of synchronization. The two Yeong-chuns, portrayed by Shin Gu and Park Jin-young, exude subtly different atmospheres in similar situations, showcasing the frail and weary elderly Yeong-chun and the confident and assertive youthfulness of Yeong-chun, revealing the multi-faceted nature of a character yearning for immortality.
After his appearance in the middle of the film, Park Jin-young, despite a change in appearance, focused on studying Shin Gu's emotional lines and unique gaze to maintain continuity, reportedly making efforts to “get into character.”
Park Jin-young revealed, “I researched everything from Shin Gu's unique speech patterns, walking style, to sitting posture,” and before filming began, he recorded Shin Gu's voice reading all of Yeong-chun's lines and practiced countless times, igniting his passion for acting. The character of Yeong-chun, completed with Shin Gu's overwhelming presence and Park Jin-young's fervent enthusiasm, has captivated audiences with a powerful villain character never seen before.
