
The movie ‘Opposition’ (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk) is dominating the box office, on the verge of reaching 3 million viewers.
According to the integrated computer network of the Korean Film Council on the 11th, ‘Opposition’ attracted 107,988 viewers the previous day, bringing its cumulative audience to 2,899,081.
The film is a crime action story involving a broker designing the drug trade in South Korea, a prosecutor aiming for higher status, and a detective who is committed to eradicating drug crimes, all intertwined with different objectives. Directed and acted by Hwang Byeong-guk, it stars Kang Ha-neul, Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-joon, Ryu Kyung-soo, and Chae Won-bin. It surpassed the break-even point (2.5 million) during the recent holiday period.
In second place is ‘Minecraft Movie’, which attracted 60,382 viewers on the same day, with a cumulative audience of 1,175,280.
The Marvel hero ‘Thunderbolts’ has dropped to third place, drawing 54,649 viewers for a cumulative total of around 762,000.
‘Breakthrough’ is in fourth place, receiving over 43,000 viewers and recording a cumulative audience of around 356,000.
As of 7:58 AM, the real-time reservation rankings are ‘Mission Impossible 8’ (around 72,000 tickets), ‘Opposition’ (around 23,000 tickets), ‘Minecraft Movie’ (around 23,000 tickets), and ‘Breakthrough’ (around 21,000 tickets).
