Actor the late Jeong Myeong-hwan has passed away. He was 65 years old.
The funeral for the deceased was held at 6:30 AM on the 11th at the funeral home of Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. The burial site is at Seoul Memorial Park.
According to the Korean Broadcasting Actors Union on the 9th, Jeong Myeong-hwan died at his home on the 8th. He was 65 years old. The cause of death is reported to be myocardial infarction.
Jeong Myeong-hwan debuted as an MBC 18th public talent in 1986 and appeared in numerous works. He gained recognition for his roles in hit dramas such as 'Our Paradise' and 'Eyes of Dawn', and left a deep impression in historical dramas like 'Heo Jun' and 'Lee San'. Known as a fishing enthusiast, he also appeared on FTV (Korea Fishing Channel) 'Fishing Headquarters'.
He had not participated in any projects since his appearance in the 2014 drama 'Into the Flames'.
Meanwhile, broadcaster Lee Sang-yong, known as 'Uncle Popeye', also passed away on the same day, the 9th. His funeral will be held on the 12th.
According to his agency, Lee Sang-yong collapsed around 12:45 PM on the same day while returning from a hospital near his home in Seocho-gu, Seoul, due to health reasons, and suddenly passed away at the age of 81. He was transported to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in a state of cardiac arrest and reportedly did not recover.
Lee Sang-yong's mortuary was set up at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital on the 10th, and it is reported that his family, who were residing in Hong Kong, returned urgently.
The funeral for the deceased is scheduled to be held on the morning of the 12th. The burial site is in Seongyeong, Yongin City.
