The movie 'Audition 109' has officially cranked in.
According to Fan Entertainment on the 23rd, the film 'Audition 109' (directed by Jung Woo and Oh Sung Ho) cranked in on December 29 last year and has taken its first steps to meet audiences in the second half of this year.
The film depicts the love and friendship of 'Jjanggu', who goes to Seoul to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. It tells a fresh youth story set against the backdrop of Busan and Seoul.
Jung Woo, the original writer of the film 'Wish', is known to have written the script and directed this film as well, already garnering hot interest. Additionally, Oh Sung Ho, a graduate of the Korean Academy of Film Arts and the director of 'That Winter, I' which won three awards at the 2022 Busan International Film Festival, adds delicacy to the film as a co-director.
The character 'Jjanggu', one of Jung Woo's unique characters, is expected to lead the entire film and once again provide laughter and emotion to the audience. Also joining 'Audition 109' are Jung Soo Jung, who won the Best New Actor award at the Buil Film Awards for 'Spider's Web', and Shin Seung Ho, who is active in both film and television. It is also anticipated to see what kind of relationships and chemistry they will showcase.
It has been hinted that many actors participated in the auditions, known to those in the film industry. During the free period, a public audition with a competition rate of 4000:1 discovered rookie actor Jo Beom Gyu, and the irreplaceable supporting actors Hyun Bong Sik and Kwon So Hyun, who plays Jjanggu's cousin, have joined the cast, raising curiosity as most roles were filled with talented actors regardless of their recognition.
It is also noteworthy that Fan Entertainment, which is behind highly anticipated productions such as 'Winter Sonata', 'When the Camellia Blooms', 'Moon Embracing the Sun', 'Fight for My Way', and the upcoming Netflix series 'The Wind Blows', has directly invested in and produced this film.
Furthermore, Perfect Storm Film, which has produced high-quality and beloved works such as the Netflix series 'Suriname', the films 'The Closet', 'Ashfall', and 'Hijacking', is participating as a co-producer, adding to the anticipation for the film.
Filming is currently underway with the goal of a release in the second half of this year.
