Singer and songwriter Lee Jae mentioned the reactions of his family.
On the morning of the 15th, a press conference for the Netflix movie 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' featuring Lee Jae was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul.
Lee Jae said, "I feel so proud and grateful because they love me so much that it feels unreal. I wanted to do 'K-Demon Hunter' because I wanted to showcase Korean culture. In the U.S., there are many animations from China and Japan, but when I was a child, I didn't even know where Korea was. So I was really angry. I'm happy and thankful that good results are coming from the hard work I put in."
He continued, "My family really loves it. There are many 'K-Demon Hunter' items in my room. My mom printed a large photo of me and got it signed. Everyone's ringtone is 'Golden,' so when it rings, no one knows whose it is."
Lee Jae also said, "I think I inherited my grandfather's talent. My grandfather is an actor, and singing is like acting. You have to be 100% immersed for the listener to believe you. When I was young, my grandfather told me that singing is acting, so I should immerse myself in the lyrics. What I learned from my grandfather is that he worked really hard to get to where he is. I drew a lot of inspiration from that. Even now, my grandfather tells me, 'You did well, keep working hard.'
'K-Pop Demon Hunters' is a story about the K-pop girl group Huntress defeating a boy group made of evil spirits called Lion Boys and protecting the world with their songs.
It has recorded the highest viewership of all time on Netflix, with a cumulative view count of 300 million. The OST 'Golden' sung by Huntress also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a total of 8 weeks.
Lee Jae is the granddaughter of veteran actor Shin Young-kyun and a former trainee at SM Entertainment. She created and performed the OST 'Golden' for the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.'
