As the members of '1 Night 2 Days' began a new and special trip to Seoul, a surprising turn of events unfolded for Kim Jong-min.
In the episode aired on the 5th, KBS 2TV's entertainment program '1 Night 2 Days Season 4' (hereafter '1 Night 2 Days') depicted the first story of the six members' 'One Night Ribbon Trip in Seoul' taking place in the capital city of South Korea, Seoul.
The viewership rating was 5.5% (based on Nielsen Korea nationwide), ranking first in its time slot. The scene where Moon Se-yoon, dressed in an outfit purchased at Dongmyo, appeared in a fashion show, and the scene teasing the next story soared to a peak rating of 7.4%.
On that day, the production team followed the six members' morning commute, scattering from early dawn, and around 6:40 AM, sent a message to the members saying, "From now on, you cannot move. If you are in the car, please get off immediately," signaling the start of a surprise mission. The members, who thought the opening time was at 7 AM, were bewildered by the unexpected turn of events but quickly grasped the situation and began to move for the mission.
To win the mission, three members had to get into one car and arrive at the opening location before the other three. Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon, and Yoo Seon-ho got into one car, while Jo Se-ho, Lee Joon, and DinDin got into another. The team that arrived first at the opening location, the Han River bus boarding area, was Jo Se-ho, Lee Joon, and DinDin. The three enjoyed the joy of victory, while Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon, and Yoo Seon-ho, who thought they had won, felt a sense of disappointment.
However, when they learned that the reward for winning the mission was only applause and cheers, the atmosphere between the two teams sharply diverged. DinDin, who had his hamburger snatched away while eating on the way to work, shouted at the production team, "Give me back my hamburger," expressing his anger, while Jo Se-ho and Lee Joon also couldn't hide their disbelief.
After a series of ups and downs, the '1 Night 2 Days' team officially began their opening, embarking on the long-awaited trip 'One Night Ribbon Trip in Seoul.' The first destination was Seongsu, a hot place for the MZ generation, and upon arriving at a bakery cafe in Seongsu, the six members decided on team names: 'New and Old Team' (Kim Jong-min, Moon Se-yoon, Yoo Seon-ho) and 'Im Jun-ho Team' (Jo Se-ho, Lee Joon, DinDin), and began their first competition.
In a quiz competition where the team that answered more of the total 10 questions related to Seoul would win, the 'New and Old Team' achieved a complete victory thanks to Kim Jong-min's outstanding performance, who answered 5 questions correctly on his own. Especially, showcasing his exceptional knowledge, Kim Jong-min aced the history questions and triumphantly shouted at the production team, "Did you see?"
As the two teams moved to the next location, they discovered a new mission card in the glove box of the vehicle that read, "Complete the outfits of all members with a shopping support fund of 100,000 won and model for the 'SEOUL F/W 2079 Show.'" Upon arriving at the second destination, Dongmyo, the members immediately began flea market shopping, imagining the fashion trends of 2079.
The six members, who set out to collect unique fashion items, gradually completed increasingly futuristic outfits. With just 100,000 won, both teams expressed satisfaction at being able to purchase a variety of clothes and items at the affordable Dongmyo market.
After getting back into the car, the two teams entered the third destination, DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza), the center of fashion in South Korea. After changing outfits, the '1 Night 2 Days' team took to the runway and photo wall of the 'SEOUL F/W 2079 Show' to explosive cheers from the audience.
From Moon Se-yoon's pajama core look to DinDin's unique style of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' grim reaper look, Yoo Seon-ho's iconic genderless dress, and Lee Joon's gorpcore look, the bold fashion and performances captured attention.
