The 'Pop Culture Exchange Committee' is officially launching. The direction for the development of K-culture is expected to be revealed, centered around Park Jin-young, the CEO and producer of JYP Entertainment, who has been appointed as the co-chair of the committee.

The Pop Culture Exchange Committee, a presidential advisory body, will hold its launch ceremony on the 1st, taking its first step towards the development of K-culture.

Earlier, President Lee Jae-myung stated on the 24th, “We have prepared the launch ceremony like a festival,” announcing the first start of the Pop Culture Exchange Committee. On this day, the launch ceremony will feature a congratulatory performance by Stray Kids, a group under JYP Entertainment, and Le Sserafim, a group led by Chairman Bang Si-hyuk of HYBE.

The Pop Culture Exchange Committee is a presidential advisory committee co-chaired by Park Jin-young and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Choi Hwi-young. It was established under the Lee Jae-myung administration, and the regulations for its establishment and operation were reviewed and approved at the Cabinet meeting the day before.

In light of the high global interest in Korean culture, the committee was established to create a public-private collaboration system necessary for the spread of popular culture, including music, drama, film, and games.

It is expected that the operational direction and specific plans for what the Pop Culture Exchange Committee, led by Park Jin-young, will execute will be revealed during the launch ceremony.

President Lee expressed his expectation that “the Pop Culture Exchange Committee will solidify the foundation of our cultural industry and greatly contribute to making Korea a true global cultural powerhouse.”

Park Jin-young also shared his thoughts regarding the committee's launch on the 9th, stating, “My dream remains the same. I want K-Pop to be loved worldwide. I will work hard to ensure that junior artists have more opportunities. I will do my best to make K-Pop take a leap forward, not only to promote our culture but also to create a space for people around the world to understand and interact with each other.”

Debuting in the music industry in 1994, Park Jin-young has produced numerous global K-Pop idol groups such as 2PM, Wonder Girls, Stray Kids, and TWICE, in addition to his activities as a singer and as the head of JYP Entertainment.
