Comedian Sung Hyun-joo has given birth to her second child.
On the 24th, she announced the birth by uploading a photo of her baby in the neonatal unit on her personal channel.
The photo included a note on the baby's swaddle that read "9/24 Sung Hyun-joo's baby."
In August, Sung announced that she was 9 months pregnant and received congratulations. At that time, she said, "I have become a 9-month pregnant woman while anxiously hiding my growing belly week by week. I will soon be the mother of two children."
On the 22nd, just before giving birth, she wrote, "Over 100 eggs have been retrieved from my ovaries, and one of them has become a life that is now filling my belly. Instead of experiencing an unprecedented joy, I am also facing sharp pains that can come suddenly. Nevertheless, I am trying to be a mom again."
Sung Hyun-joo married a businessman 6 years her senior in 2011 and gave birth to a son in 2014, but she lost him to sepsis in 2020.
She published an essay titled 'Your Well-being' that contained stories about her son and donated all the royalties for the treatment of children in a children's hospital.
