In 2013, at the age of 22, Hong Young-ki gave birth to her first child while pregnant before marriage. She revealed, “At that time, my weight increased from 37 kg to 68 kg, more than 30 kg. After childbirth, I rapidly lost weight due to postpartum depression and decreased appetite. I didn’t even want to eat seaweed soup because I had no appetite.”
She added, “After giving birth, it’s necessary to manage your face and body,” stating, “I receive lifting treatments regularly every year, and recently I had a nose surgery. The cost was about 10 million won. I think I have spent around 100 million won on postpartum appearance management since giving birth.”
She also recalled the moment she found out she was pregnant, saying, “I only thought, ‘This is a disaster.’ My husband was a high school student, right?” She expressed her fear of being scolded by her mother, who is a devout Christian. “In the end, I mustered the courage to reveal my pregnancy, and my mother was so shocked that she didn’t come out of her room for three days,” she said.
She continued, “I had to endure countless gazes and negative comments just because I became a mother at a young age,” reflecting on her difficult past.
Hong Young-ki appeared on the comedy TV variety show ‘Ulzzang Generation’ in 2009. In 2012, she registered her marriage with Lee Se-yong, a YouTuber who is three years younger than her, and they became a couple. They have two sons together.
