Director Han Jun-hee, who created the ‘D.P.’ series and the ‘Weak Hero Class’ series, is producing ‘Road’ with Son Seok-koo, which follows a serial murder case.
On the 12th, Netflix confirmed the production of the new series ‘Road’ (written by Jo Yu-jin and Han Jun-hee, directed by Han Jun-hee, working title) and announced that Son Seok-koo, Nagayama Eita, Kim Shin-rok, Choi Sung-eun, and Jung Jae-young have been confirmed to star.
‘Road’ is a new Netflix series that tells the story of two detectives chasing a series of horrific murders characterized by contorted corpses, mysterious messages, and repeated incidents crossing borders.
The story begins when a bizarrely contorted corpse is discovered in Tokyo. A phrase written in Korean with blood around the body shocks Japan. However, news soon follows that a similar incident has occurred in Korea, involving a contorted corpse and a message written in Japanese, leading both countries to realize that this is a serial murder case. Through this, ‘Road’ depicts the process of Korean and Japanese detectives conducting a joint investigation to find clues to this mysterious case.
Based on the comic ‘Blue Road’, the script was adapted by writer Jo Yu-jin and director Han Jun-hee from the pilot.
Son Seok-koo plays the role of a Korean detective, while Nagayama Eita, known for films like ‘The Host’ and ‘Memories of Matsuko’, and dramas like ‘Nodame Cantabile’ and ‘The Best Divorce’, plays the role of a Japanese detective. Kim Shin-rok plays a Zainichi Korean businessman who helps solve the case, while Choi Sung-eun portrays a government agent who investigates the case from a different perspective than the two detectives. Jung Jae-young appears as a mysterious man with an unknown identity.
