YouTuber the late Daedoseogwan (real name Na Dong-hyun) has passed away.
On the morning of the 9th, the funeral of the late Daedoseogwan was held at the Konkuk University Hospital funeral hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The bereaved family included his ex-wife Yumdaeng (real name Lee Chae-won) and the deceased's younger sister, and the burial site is the Seoul City Crematorium.
Daedoseogwan was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 6th. He was 46 years old.
The police and fire authorities were dispatched after a friend reported that he could not be contacted, and they discovered the deceased. It was reported that no suicide note or signs of a crime were found at the scene.
Subsequently, on the 8th, the National Forensic Service completed the autopsy on Daedoseogwan and conveyed an initial verbal opinion to the police stating that there were no criminal suspicions.
The police are considering the possibility that he died from a pre-existing medical condition. They stated that they would close the case once the final autopsy report from the National Forensic Service is released.
According to friends of the deceased, Daedoseogwan had complained of heart-related pain during his lifetime.
The late Daedoseogwan, who was a first-generation internet broadcaster, was loved for over 20 years through various platforms and content since the early 2000s. His YouTube subscriber count is 1.44 million.
He led a clean internet broadcasting culture with broadcasts free of profanity and continued to communicate with fans through live streaming until recently. On the 4th, he also attended a fashion show held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, adding to the event's brilliance.
Following the sudden news of his death, messages of condolence from colleagues and fans poured in. YouTuber Gomong mourned, saying, "He was always a vibrant and confident big brother among YouTubers," while YouTuber Kim Seong-hwa expressed, "I deeply mourn the last journey of someone who paved the way."
Broadcaster Kim Dae-beom also expressed his sorrow, stating that Daedoseogwan had greatly helped comedians start their YouTube careers, saying, "Why did the Daedoseogwan, who brought health and bright energy, have to go to heaven so soon? It's too early."
Daedoseogwan married Yumdaeng in 2015, but they divorced amicably in 2023 after 8 years of marriage. At the time, the two stated, "It's not that we are parting on bad terms," and "As we lived, we wanted to focus more on our work, and wouldn't it be much better to remain friends?"
Yumdaeng, who reportedly maintained a good relationship with the deceased even after the divorce, was present to see Daedoseogwan on his final journey.
