The funeral of the late Daedoseogwan (real name Na Dong-hyun), a YouTuber, will be held today.
The funeral service for the late Daedoseogwan will take place at 8 AM on the 9th at the Konkuk University Hospital funeral hall. The burial site is the Seoul City Seunghwa Park. The late Daedoseogwan's ex-wife, YouTuber Yumdaeng, and his younger sister are present as mourners, keeping vigil by his side.
Daedoseogwan was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at around 8:40 AM on the 6th. He was 46 years old. A friend reported him to the police after he failed to show up at a scheduled meeting and could not be reached. The police, who arrived at the scene, discovered him. No signs of foul play or a suicide note were found.
According to the police, the National Forensic Service conducted an autopsy on the 8th and provided an initial verbal report stating that there were no signs of homicide or criminal activity.
The police are considering the possibility that Daedoseogwan died from a pre-existing condition and plan to determine the exact cause of death after receiving the final autopsy report from the National Forensic Service. Friends of Daedoseogwan have stated that he had complained of heart-related pain during his lifetime.
Daedoseogwan was a first-generation original internet broadcaster who actively worked since the 2000s and was a star YouTuber with 1.44 million subscribers. He is considered a pioneer of 'one-person broadcasting' in South Korea. He continued his activities, attending the 2026 S/S Seoul Fashion Week fashion show held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, until the 4th.
Following the news of Daedoseogwan's passing, fellow YouTubers expressed their condolences. Review specialist YouTuber Gomong said, "He supported me during lonely times through his broadcasts, and it was Daedo-hyung who inspired me to start my YouTube journey that changed my life," adding, "He was always a vibrant and confident big brother to YouTubers. I hope he finds peace there."
Kim Seong-hwa, who runs the YouTube channel 'Kim Seong-hwa's G Encyclopedia,' stated, "I learned about the world of game broadcasting through my senior, and I dreamed of becoming a game broadcaster," and added, "Every first encounter is always great. I remember my senior, whom I respected even though we are the same age," expressing, "I deeply mourn the last journey of the one who paved the way."
Daedoseogwan married Yumdaeng in 2015, but they divorced by mutual agreement in 2023 after eight years of marriage. At that time, the two stated in a live broadcast, "It's not that we are parting due to bad circumstances. As we lived, we wanted to focus more on our work, and we thought it would be much better to remain friends, so we decided to divorce."
