Actress Seo Hyorim expressed her longing for her late mother-in-law, Kim Soo-mi.
On the 26th, a video titled "Post-Moving Syndrome... Help Me (Joy and Sorrow)" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Hyorim & Joy'.
In the video, Seo Hyorim is seen making a traditional sweet rice cake called "ssukpatdangi" for her daughter's birthday. She shared, "My mother used to make this for me every year until I turned 10, so I have fond memories of eating it as a child," and added, "There is a belief that making ssukpatdangi for 10 years wards off bad energy, so I made it for my daughter's 100 days, first birthday, and when she turned 2, 3, and 4."
She then began preparing to make the ssukpatdangi, explaining, "First, you need to soak the (glutinous) millet, then go to the mill to grind it and prepare the dough."
Next, she mentioned that after soaking the red beans in water, they need to be boiled, ground in a mortar, and prepared with castella flour. Seo Hyorim revealed, "My mother prepared the red beans. I can do it well too."

As she started making the ssukpatdangi in earnest, Seo Hyorim sighed, "The dough turned out really well. My daughter should know how hard it is to make rice cakes."
In particular, she became emotional while recalling her late mother-in-law, saying, "My mother-in-law really loved this."
As she wrapped up the rice cake making, Seo Hyorim expressed her struggles, saying, "This is the fourth time I'm doing this. I have to do it for another five years."
Meanwhile, Seo Hyorim is married to Kim Soo-mi's son, Jeong Myung-ho, and they have one daughter together.
Kim Soo-mi passed away last October at the age of 75, and Seo Hyorim, who often showcased an ideal mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship on various television programs, has expressed her sadness and longing for the deceased.
