BTS member V successfully threw the first pitch at a Major League Baseball (MLB) game in the United States.
On the 26th (Korean time), V took the mound as the first pitcher before the game between the LA Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
As V appeared in an LA Dodgers uniform, the stadium erupted with cheers. With BTS's hit song 'MIC Drop' playing in the background, V showcased a wonderful first pitch ceremony with a bright smile.
He then made a surprise return to the mound and energetically shouted the LA Dodgers' signature catchphrase, “It’s time for Dodger baseball!” This phrase was famously used by legendary MLB commentator Vin Scully to announce the start of Dodgers games. V cleverly shouted it himself, igniting excitement throughout Dodger Stadium.
Local commentators also reacted enthusiastically. In the broadcast booth, they said, “V is a global sensation. As soon as the news of his first pitch was announced, ticket sales skyrocketed, and many fans will gather at the stadium because of it.”
