The value of the building owned by actor Cha In-pyo and Shin Ae-ra in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, is estimated to have increased by over 30 billion won in 17 years. The building is also gaining attention as an 'education specialized building.'
According to the real estate industry on the 24th, the couple purchased a 234-pyeong (773㎡) land on the side of Yeongdong-daero in Cheongdam-dong for 7.2 billion won in joint ownership in 2006.
Subsequently, the couple invested about 3.5 billion won between 2007 and 2008 to construct a building with 2 basement levels and 6 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 885 pyeong (2927㎡).
The building is located a 4-minute walk from Cheongdam Station on Line 7, securing stable rental demand.
According to the property registration, the building is named 'Cheongdam-dong Educational Research Facility,' reflecting the couple's special interest in social welfare and education. The actual building name is 'Kids12,' and rental income is currently generated mainly from education-related businesses.

The couple did not use their investment profits solely for personal gain. It has been reported that they set rental prices at half the level of surrounding market prices and allowed only education-related companies to lease the space.
Additionally, some of the profits have been used to support child welfare, contributing to the local community.
The real estate industry estimates the current value of this building to be about 41.2 billion won, based on sales cases of older buildings in the vicinity. This represents an increase of about 30.1 billion won compared to the combined purchase price and construction cost of 11 billion won.
Cha In-pyo and Shin Ae-ra met as co-stars in the 1994 MBC drama 'Love in Your Arms' and got married the following year, having one son and two daughters.
Shin Ae-ra appears on Channel A's 'My Baby, Precious Like Gold,' while Cha In-pyo recently won the 14th Hwang Sun-won Literary Award for New Writers with his novel 'Mermaid Hunting,' published in 2022.
