MBC Plus has signed an MOU (Strategic Business Partnership) for Korea-China content cooperation with Chinese companies.

On the 21st, MBC Plus announced, “We have entered into a strategic business partnership with Zuan-Tao Group and Shanghai Starlink Entertainment.”

Zuan-Tao Group is a leading company in building the Shanghai e-Sports Center in China and leading cultural-based clusters, possessing various media infrastructures, while Shanghai Starlink Entertainment is a special corporation established by Zuan-Tao Group for Korea-China cultural exchange projects.

Through this agreement with MBC Plus, Zuan-Tao Group and Shanghai Starlink Entertainment plan to quickly advance joint IP development and sourcing, as well as virtual idol development, in order to expand their reach as a global cultural leading company, ahead of improving Korea-China relations.

At the signing ceremony, MBC Plus CEO Kang Ji-woong expressed confidence, stating, “This agreement will be an important milestone signaling the start of cooperation between the two countries at a crucial point in the recovery of Korea-China relations.”

As the largest PP company in Korea with a global idol fandom of about 20 million through programs like ‘Show Champion’, ‘All The K-Pop’, and ‘Idol Champ’, the business agreement between MBC Plus and Zuan-Tao Group, which has various infrastructures in China, is drawing attention to its potential impact on the development of Korea-China culture.
