Kimchi master Kim Hyo-sook and North Korean defector entrepreneur Lee Soon-sil engaged in a sales competition.
In the KBS2 entertainment program ‘The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears’ (hereafter ‘Sadangui’) aired on the afternoon of the 22nd, Lee Soon-sil's team visited Kimchi master Kim Hyo-sook.
During the broadcast, Kim Hyo-sook said, “You learn kimchi from me. I have been running a restaurant for about 40 years. Thirty years ago, there were incredibly long lines, and back then I earned about 3.4 million won a day. Our family has been in the kimchi business for four generations: my grandmother, my mother, me, and my daughter in Canada.”
In response, Lee Soon-sil said, “We also have three generations: my maternal grandmother, my mother, and me. Do you know how much we earn from cold noodles in a month? It’s 700 million won! Kimchi is from Pyongyang,” continuing to compete despite forgetting the purpose of the visit.
The panelists pointed out, “Aren’t you here to learn?” criticizing Lee Soon-sil's attitude.
‘Sadangui’ can be seen every Sunday at 4:45 PM on KBS2.
