Broadcaster Jang Young-ran shared her experience of purchasing an Hermes bag.
On the 13th, Jang Young-ran uploaded a video titled "Jang Young-ran's First Reveal of Luxury Bags Collected Over 27 Years" on her YouTube channel 'A-class Jang Young-ran'.
In the video, Jang Young-ran held two Hermes bags and described them as "bags that still involve a bit of a power struggle, which I cherish."
Jang Young-ran recounted her experience of wanting to buy an Hermes bag and going to the store, saying, "I asked for a bag, but they said they didn't have any," indicating that they showed no willingness to sell even the bags on display.
She added that the staff said, "You haven't bought anything from Hermes, have you? If you buy some clothes or dishes and accumulate some points, then we can let you buy a bag."
Jang Young-ran, who was very surprised and flustered at the time, ended up buying Hermes clothes at her husband's suggestion. She said, "I can't even wear those expensive clothes because I'm too attached to them. I've kept them stored away."
After purchasing the clothes, Jang Young-ran received a call from the staff, saying, "I was more excited than waiting for exam results," and added, "I went into a secret area of the store to receive the bag, and I received it without knowing the color or size, just taking what they gave me."
However, Jang Young-ran ultimately lost the power struggle with those bags as well, confessing, "Poverty is ingrained in me, so when I buy expensive items, I just end up cherishing them."
Jang Young-ran married Korean medicine doctor Han Chang in 2009 and has one son and one daughter. Recently, she made headlines by purchasing an apartment worth 9.4 billion won with her husband.
