Kim Na-jung was sent to the prosecution in January for allegedly using methamphetamine and synthetic marijuana in Manila, Philippines last year.
On November 12 of last year, before departing from Manila, she posted on her SNS, "I confess to using drugs in the Philippines," and "I feel like I'm going to die, so I can't get on the plane," which put her at the center of controversy.
After returning to Incheon International Airport from the Philippines, Kim Na-jung was investigated for about two hours by the Incheon International Airport Police, and at that time, a preliminary drug test showed a positive result.
In response, Kim Na-jung's side claimed that the drug use was forced and submitted related videos to the police. They alleged that she was forced to inhale drug smoke while her hands were tied and wearing a blindfold by a young businessman referred to as Mr. A, whom she met in the Philippines.
However, the police determined that the evidence alone was insufficient to prove coercion and sent Kim Na-jung to the prosecution in January on charges of violating drug management laws.
Kim Na-jung gained recognition after winning the 'Miss Maxim' contest in 2019 and has since worked as a broadcaster and freelance announcer. She has appeared in SBS entertainment show 'Black Sheep Game' and Wavve original entertainment show 'Ideological Verification Zone: The Community'.
