Syu, a member of the group S.E.S., expressed her feelings regarding past controversies such as illegal gambling and exposure on BJ broadcasts, and thanked everyone for their support.
On the 9th, Syu stated on her Instagram account, "Yesterday, I was able to share my story directly through YouTube for the first time in a while. There were stories I couldn't easily bring up until now, but after a long period of contemplation, I gathered the courage to speak for the first time."
She continued, "It has been 24 hours since the video was uploaded, and I am truly grateful for the interest and support from so many people in just one short day," adding, "Reading each and every comment you left made me emotional, and seeing the harsh advice deepened my resolve to live my life more valuably and precious from now on."
Syu also mentioned, "I hope that one day I can confidently say to you, 'Everyone, I have become a human now~ right?' instead of being the clueless Syu. From now on, I will do my best to live as the real human Syu, without hiding or embellishing anything."

Previously, Syu opened her YouTube channel 'Human That's Syu' and released her first video titled 'The Controversial Incident... I will tell everything today (First Release)'.
In the video, Syu's husband, former professional basketball player Lim Hyo-sung, said, "At that time, Syu and I were already having trouble and were living separately, but I received a call saying she needed money." He added, "After retiring from being a player, my income was not good. When I heard she had a debt of 250 million won, I thought about it for a day and borrowed from friends the next day to give it to her. But she didn't come back for another 1 night and 2 days."
Lim Hyo-sung continued, "I told Syu not to do anything else, not to pretend in front of people, and not to be cowardly." To this, Syu tearfully responded, "I admit that I ruined everything. I feel so sorry for our children, so I am trying to live hard now."
Syu was indicted for habitual gambling amounting to about 790 million won in places like Macau from August 2016 to May 2018, and was sentenced to 6 months in prison, 2 years of probation, and 80 hours of community service. Additionally, she was sued for failing to repay gambling funds amounting to hundreds of millions, which was settled through mediation in November 2020.
