‘The Men Who Clean the Earth’ won the Grand Prize in the Environmental Content category at the 2025 Korea Environmental Awards.
MBC's cultural program ‘The Men Who Clean the Earth’ (hereafter ‘The Men Who Clean’) received the Grand Prize in the Public Environmental Content category at the 20th 2025 Korea Environmental Awards.
The Korea Environmental Awards are given to companies and local governments that contribute to a future-oriented eco-friendly society and sustainable environmental development, and ‘The Men Who Clean the Earth’ was uniquely selected in the Public Environmental Content category, recognizing the value of the program.
Last October, ‘The Men Who Clean the Earth’ met viewers with a total of six episodes and was selected for production support by the Korea Communications Commission in 2024. Under the concept of ‘An ESG-oriented Environmental Journey Without What You Don’t Have’, five men embark on a special journey from the city to the remote areas of Mongolia, conveying the message that happiness can be found with minimal consumption, which resonated with viewers.
Additionally, the program's approach to environmental topics such as waste and consumption, which were previously treated somewhat heavily, was presented in a light-hearted manner, garnering broad empathy from audiences ranging from the MZ generation to those in their 40s and 60s. The message that ‘the environment is everyone’s story’ was also effectively communicated to viewers.
