Seong Dong-il, Kim Kwang-kyu, Um Gi-joon, and others are heading to the UK for language study.
JTBC's new entertainment program ‘Before It’s Too Late: Language Study - Salasalala’, which will premiere on February 5 at 10:20 PM (directed by Jeong Seung-il and Jeong Yoon-ah, hereafter referred to as ‘Salasalala’), captures the chaotic ‘free talking’ challenges of five actors who have gone to the UK for language study.
Actors Seong Dong-il, Kim Kwang-kyu, Um Gi-joon, Jang Hyuk, and Shin Seung-hwan join together to head to the birthplace of English, the UK. For the first time in their lives, they embark on language study without anyone's help, showcasing the extreme journey of preparing in advance, finding roommates, living the language study life, and going on a ‘free trip’ together, all of which are not easy tasks.
Additionally, the members, who are experiencing a second school life through language school, are expected to enjoy a delightful campus life after several decades.
Ahead of the first broadcast, a teaser released on the 8th featured the members who have gone to the UK for language study. The direction reminiscent of New Jeans’ ‘Ditto’ music video captures attention, as Seong Dong-il, along with Um Gi-joon, Jang Hyuk, Kim Kwang-kyu, and Shin Seung-hwan, transform into late-blooming students dressed in matching baseball jackets.
There is much anticipation for the chemistry of these members, who are rarely seen in entertainment programs, and the realistic adaptation of the ‘average age 51.8 years’ members to life in the UK.
The production team stated, “We have realistically captured the journey of members who have been recognized as actors for a long time, diving into English studies before it’s too late,” adding, “Through the members’ struggles to realize their dream of ‘free talking’ in unfamiliar England, viewers will get a glimpse of their human charm and unique chemistry that has not been revealed on broadcasts before.”
