Director Oh Gi-hwan expressed his affection for 'I-Shopping'.
On the afternoon of the 21st, a press conference for ENA's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'I-Shopping' was held at Stanford Hotel Korea in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Yeom Jung-ah, Won Jin-ah, Choi Young-jun, Dex, and Director Oh Gi-hwan.
'I-Shopping' is an action thriller that depicts the desperate survival and revenge of children who were abandoned by their adoptive parents and barely survived on the brink of death.
This work is based on the webtoon of the same name, which won the 'Best Creativity Award' at the SPP 2017 International Content Market Webtoon Awards. The shocking premise of children being bought and sold by their parents and the illegal adoption cartel that offers free refunds if the adopted child is not satisfactory touches on harsh realities, sparking curiosity.
Director Oh Gi-hwan stated, "Recently, many film directors are working on dramas. I don't know how they feel, but I approached it with the mindset of making an 8-part movie. The script is almost like a movie. I thought about it as if I were writing a film script and spent a long time on it. Since it's a movie, I pushed myself to meet certain standards." He revealed that he approached it from the perspective of making a film rather than a drama.
He continued, "I worked on the music until early this morning. Unlike a regular drama, I am working on it like a movie. The most important thing is that it covers all human emotions. In terms of content, it brings extreme cinematic devices," raising expectations.
Director Oh also mentioned, "ENA edited it to fit this context. Tving allowed me to show 100% of what I envisioned. If you love 'I-Shopping', watching both the 15 and 19 age versions will provide multiple layers of enjoyment," urging viewers to watch both the broadcast and the OTT series.
'I-Shopping' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM on ENA. VOD services are available on the OTT platform Tving.
