IU is currently filming the new MBC Friday-Saturday drama '21st Century Great Lady' (written by Yoo Ah-in, directed by Park Jun-hwa), which is highly anticipated for the first half of 2026.
'21st Century Great Lady' is a drama set in a constitutional monarchy in the 21st century Republic of Korea, depicting the romance of a woman, Seong Hee-joo (played by IU), who is a wealthy heiress but is frustrated by her status as a mere 'commoner', and a sad man, Lee An-dae-gun (played by Byun Woo-seok), who is the son of a king but can possess nothing.
