Singer MC Mong is stepping down from One Hundred and heading abroad for studies.
On the 17th, MC Mong posted a lengthy message on social media, stating, "I think it is a priority to inform my fans."
He said, "I have been suffering from extreme depression and underwent surgery. My health has deteriorated to the point where making music has become difficult. There is no need to focus on rumors that are floating around. I am choosing a way to be able to make music for a longer time."
He added, "I have entrusted all my work with One Hundred and BPM producers to Chairman Cha Ga-won and decided to study abroad for my health and personal development."
MC Mong mentioned that he is preparing to release an album this year, saying, "I want to focus on studying music and language, which is my last desire."
He also expressed, "Working with dream-like producers has been so happy, and I still love and support them. I was worried that I might overshadow their light, and it has always been hard for me to feel like a burden to their fans," adding, "They will shine even more, and I hope they become even more wonderful artists with the support of their fans, just like you all wish."
MC Mong co-founded the One Hundred label with Chairman Cha Ga-won of the PIAK Group. However, last month, One Hundred officially announced, "MC Mong is currently excluded from company duties due to personal circumstances." The reasons for his exclusion and the possibility of his return to work have not been disclosed.
