Shin Yu, a member of the Chinese idol group 'Triple S', has come under fire for her strong support of 'One China' and her extreme attitude.

On the 12th, while communicating with fans on the fan interaction platform From, Shin Yu stated, “Macau is originally Chinese territory. Hong Kong and Taiwan are too.”

The Chinese government asserts that the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau are inseparable parts of one country, with only one legitimate government.

Previously, former f(x) member Victoria, former Miss A member Jia, and former EXO member Lay have made similar claims.

As expected, reactions were mixed. Some fans expressed support, stating that 'individual beliefs should be respected', while others criticized her for being 'imprudent' and 'uncomfortable'.

However, the issue was Shin Yu's response to the diverse opinions of fans. When concerns were raised, she reacted strongly, saying, “Why? Are you afraid of being scolded? Did I say something wrong? Don’t define me as someone who disagrees with you on 'From'.”

Particularly, there was fierce criticism given that there is a member of Taiwanese nationality, Nien, in the same group. Triple S is a multinational group with 24 members.

Shin Yu's side has not yet provided any additional comments on the matter.

He joined Triple S as the 15th member, having previously participated in Mnet's 'Girls Planet 999: Girl's War' in 2021.
