Popular trot singer Park Seo-jin (30) confessed his painful experiences during his unknown days.
On the night of the 12th, Park Seo-jin recalled his past painful memories on KBS2's 'Salim Nam 2' (hereafter 'Salim Nam 2').
Recently injured in his leg, he hired his younger brother Park Hyo-jung as a daily manager for the broadcast, sharing various stories while managing their schedule together.
Park Seo-jin said, "I didn't have a car, so I carried my clothes and makeup tools in a bag and took the bus. Back then, there was no waiting room, so I endured in the bathroom every day."
He continued, "When I was traveling without a car, the security guards didn't recognize me as a singer and no one paid attention to me, but now I feel proud when I see my name written in the waiting room," adding, "In fact, other singers wear clothes worth millions of won, but I bought a jacket for 20,000 won online and bought sequins at the market to iron on myself."
He also shared, "I waited in the bathroom for 3 to 4 hours, and even when I finally got on stage, there were often no audience members in the seats. Experiencing that situation in cold weather was truly painful."
He mentioned that there were many instances of waiting outdoors due to the lack of a waiting room, and when it started to get cold, he would go into the bathroom.
He said, "When I had no stage to perform on, I had no opportunity to promote myself, so I took the initiative. I would see event banners and call, saying, 'I'm an unknown singer, please give me a stage, I don't need money, just please give me a stage,' and I called dozens of times after much thought," adding, "In fact, I had a fear of making phone calls, but I was afraid of being rejected and still called multiple times."
Hearing this, his younger brother Park Hyo-jung was surprised, saying, "How could you, being so introverted, call after seeing a banner?" and Park Seo-jin replied, "I loved singing in front of people that much. Even now, there are many singers who want to sing, and I must also do my best for each stage like them."
Park Seo-jin won the championship in the MBN competition program 'Current King of Singers 2', which ended in February, and has risen to prominence by appearing in various entertainment programs, including 'Salim Nam 2'. Last year, he also won the Rookie Award at the KBS 'Entertainment Awards'.
