Broadcaster Song Eun-yi has revealed the behind-the-scenes of her building, which she uses as a corporate office, as its value has skyrocketed.
On the 10th, a video titled "Investment Queen Song Eun-yi's first reveal of her nature-view apartment after becoming independent at 50" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Hello, I'm Choi Hwa-jung.'
Choi Hwa-jung visited Song Eun-yi's 'forest view apartment' after she became independent at 50 for a housewarming. Song Eun-yi said, "I love nature," and added, "It feels a bit dark like my grandmother's house, and I don't turn on the air conditioner."
In Song Eun-yi's living room, there was an impressive 84-inch TV. She mentioned, "It’s probably the largest among home TVs," referring to its price of over 10 million won, which surprised Choi Hwa-jung.
Song Eun-yi explained that she bought the large TV because "when employees come over to watch soccer together, it's nice to have a big TV."
Having become independent from her family home at the age of 50, Song Eun-yi recalled, "In the program 'Independence Cheers,' I filmed my mom after I left home, and it was a bit touching to see her looking at my empty room."
After the program ended, Song Eun-yi had thoughts of returning to her family home, saying, "My mom doesn't pressure me to get married, but when I go home, she always nags me to wear socks," adding, "Hearing that after a few months brought me stress."
In response, Choi Hwa-jung remarked, "But later, when your mom passes away, you'll realize that you should have fixed the things she nagged you about," showing an emotional reaction.
The story of Song Eun-yi's office building, which has gained attention for its skyrocketing value, was also shared. Song Eun-yi stated, "I thought I needed space and built the office, so it wasn't about making money."
She continued, "When I had a small office, I noticed that the junkyard area received a lot of sunlight," explaining that this was the beginning of her search for an office space that lasted about a year and a half to two years.
When asked by the production team if the building's value had increased, Song Eun-yi replied, "It has," but calmly added, "It's a bank matter, so it doesn't concern me."
From December 2020 to March 2021, Song Eun-yi purchased five plots of land (413㎡·125 pyeong) in Sangam-dong for 5.04 billion won. At the time of purchase, there were two commercial buildings and one single-family house, but she demolished them and built a new building with a total area of about 1,221㎡ (370 pyeong). The construction cost is estimated to be about 3.33 billion won, at 9 million won per pyeong (3.3㎡).
The building is seven stories tall, with one basement level and six above ground, and is currently reported to be worth approximately 15.7 billion won.
