Actress Lee Si-young (43) has announced her second pregnancy, and her ex-husband Mr. A has shared his thoughts.
In a phone call with Dispatch on the 8th, Mr. A stated that he did not agree with Lee Si-young getting pregnant with a second child after their divorce, but added, "Since there is going to be a second child, I will try to fulfill my responsibilities as a father."
He continued, "Even after separating from Lee Si-young, we have frequently communicated about raising our first child," and added, "The same goes for the second child. Both as a mother and a father, we will do our best."
Earlier that day, Lee Si-young surprised everyone by revealing on her social media that she is pregnant with her ex-husband's child.
Lee Si-young mentioned that she was preparing for her second child through in vitro fertilization when she faced a breakup with her ex-husband. As the expiration date for the frozen embryos approached after five years, she decided to proceed with the implantation and successfully became pregnant. She stated, "The other party did not agree," and added, "I intend to bear the weight of the decision I made entirely on my own."
Lee Si-young's decision to proceed with the embryo implantation was driven by her love for the child.
She expressed, "The only reason I was able to endure the difficult marriage was that I had an angelic child who filled me with happiness, hope, and emotion," and said, "I had various concerns about different possibilities, but I want to believe that my current choice is more valuable, considering all of that."
She added, "I will humbly accept any criticism or advice that comes my way in the future. And with gratitude for the baby who has come back to me when I am still lacking in many ways, I will live my life diligently with a deep sense of responsibility to ensure that the child lacks nothing, even if I am alone."
Meanwhile, Lee Si-young married a restaurant entrepreneur in September 2017 and has one son, but they faced a breakup earlier this year. She is currently appearing in the ENA drama 'Salon de Homes.'
