Broadcaster Ahn Sun-young is leaving all her broadcasting career behind to head to Canada for her son's dream.
On the 4th, Ahn Sun-young posted a video titled “I, Ahn Sun-young, am leaving Korea now” on her YouTube channel ‘This is Ahn Sun-young’.
In the video, Ahn Sun-young introduced her career, saying, “I have been in broadcasting for 26 years, a mother for 10 years, and an entrepreneur for 8 years.”
She continued, “The biggest part of my life is being the broadcaster Ahn Sun-young. I believe I am at the peak of my live broadcasting career, but I have decided to boldly leave all my careers and move to Canada.”
Ahn Sun-young, who described herself as more of a livelihood broadcaster than a celebrity, talked about her reason for giving up her career, which revolves around her son's dream.
Ahn Sun-young explained, “My son has a talent for ice hockey,” adding, “Canada is famous for ice hockey, and he took an admission test where he was selected among 13 out of thousands of local children.”
Ahn Sun-young told her son, “You can play hockey in Korea, but if I leave Korea, I might never be able to broadcast again,” and she tried to persuade him for a year, but her son said, “It’s my life, and I want to try. If you can’t go with me, I can stay in a boarding house by myself.”
Ultimately, Ahn Sun-young chose to quit her broadcasting job and work together for her son's dream.
Ahn Sun-young expressed, “Fortunately, the world has improved,” and left a bold message saying, “I will challenge a new life as a new YouTuber Ahn Sun-young, specializing in live sales.”
Ahn Sun-young married a younger businessman in 2013 and welcomed her son in 2016. She gained attention for her lively talk on entertainment programs and achieved cumulative sales of 1 trillion won as a home shopping host.
