The legal representative of broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu, who was charged by the police for driving after taking medication for panic disorder, has stated their position regarding the circumstances that revealed multiple vehicle accidents on the day of the incident.
Lee Kyung-kyu's legal representative, attorney Jeong Gu-seung from the law firm Ilro, stated on the 26th to Maeil Business Star Today, "The accidents revealed by CCTV have already been acknowledged by the police," and added, "It was a really minor (contact) accident, so all parties involved said, 'It's fine to just go.'"
Regarding the incident of hitting the wall at the car wash, he emphasized, "It is a place where many people often come into contact," and "It could have happened regardless of whether medication was taken."
On the bus collision accident, attorney Jeong explained, "It happened while trying to park another vehicle closely in front," and added, "It was really minor."
Attorney Jeong stated, "As Lee Kyung-kyu mentioned in front of the press after the police investigation, he acknowledges his mistake and is accepting it humbly," and conveyed, "In the future, (after taking medication for panic disorder) he will move through his manager or agency."
Previously, on the 8th, Lee Kyung-kyu was reported for suspected vehicle theft after mistakenly driving another person's vehicle of the same model from a parking lot in Gangnam, Seoul. Following this, a preliminary drug test conducted by the police confirmed a positive result, leading to charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.
After completing the police investigation on the 24th, Lee Kyung-kyu stated, "I will be more careful when taking (panic disorder) medication in the future."
Lee Kyung-kyu is currently appearing on programs such as TV Chosun's 'Modern Historical Mystery' and Channel A's 'Find the Secret to Success: Boss Attack.'
