In 'Brave Detectives 4', the results of the detectives' relentless pursuit will be revealed.
In the 40th episode of T-Cast E Channel's 'Brave Detectives 4' (directed by Lee Ji-sun), Detective Park Gi-hoon, former Commissioner Yoon Wae-chul of the Scientific Investigation Team (KCSI), and Inspector Kim Jin-soo will appear to share the case they solved themselves.
The broadcast begins with a report of a man lying on the sidewalk of an 8-lane road. The victim was found dead, soaked in blood, wearing a running shirt, with his lips tightly bitten and 17 stab wounds on his body, along with signs of strangulation.
The victim, a taxi driver in his 40s, was a father of a one-year-old child and was driving a taxi until dawn to make a living on the day of the incident. However, his taxi was found not at the crime scene but in a nearby residential area due to a fire report. The perpetrator had killed the victim, abandoned the taxi in the residential area, and set it on fire. At the scene, there were accelerants, blood presumed to belong to the perpetrator, and the images of two suspicious men captured on CCTV, but the investigation faced difficulties due to the blurry footage.
Despite conducting extensive investigations, including base station analysis and checking for similar past crimes, the case ultimately remained unsolved. Twelve years later, a detective who joined the cold case team while reviewing the photos from the scene spotted a new possibility in one of the images, reigniting the investigation. After three years of relentless pursuit, the identities of the perpetrators finally came to light after 15 years.
The Scientific Investigation Team also reveals the details of a case of arson and murder. A fire report was received from a multi-family apartment, but the door to the fire-affected area was locked. Inside the house, the charred body of a woman was found under a pile of burnt blankets and clothes. The deceased was a woman in her 40s who lived alone in the house, and she had over 30 stab wounds. The perpetrator did not touch any valuables, only taking the victim's mobile phone and house keys.
The possibility that the perpetrator locked the door with the keys and fled was raised, but the scientific investigation team, which re-examined the scene multiple times, found decisive evidence that the perpetrator did not escape through the front door. Subsequently, the investigation team decided to personally check the reckless and dangerous escape route of the perpetrator and discovered traces left by the perpetrator in an unexpected place.
A statement from the perpetrator, who risked their own life to commit the crime, shocked everyone, raising the question of what the truth behind the arson and murder case is, which can be confirmed in 'Brave Detectives 4'.
