Actor Kim Jung-hyun candidly shared his feelings about various controversies that arose four years ago.
On the 13th, Kim Jung-hyun appeared on KBS2's 'Going and Coming Jeong Im-jung' and had an honest conversation on various topics including his acting career.
When asked about his life’s work, Kim Jung-hyun mentioned his upcoming project, saying, "I think it's lucky to have had works that were loved. Even during tough times, there are many people who remember me for good works."
Recalling the period of the 'gaslighting' and 'Kim Ddak-dak' controversy, Kim Jung-hyun said, "When I was struggling, I must have felt wronged and had a tremendous sense of shame," adding, "There were things that were too big for me."
He continued, "After going through such experiences, I realized that if I keep holding onto the difficult things, it will only continue to be hard. Living as if there were no difficulties, rather, I seem to be getting healthier by meeting many good people."
Hearing Kim Jung-hyun's honest confession, Shin Dong-yeob empathized, saying, "We are adults too, but we come to realize things in that way."
Previously, Kim Jung-hyun was at the center of controversy for being gaslighted by his ex-girlfriend, actress Seo Ye-ji, which affected his work and other actors. In particular, Kim Jung-hyun faced public backlash for his uncooperative attitude, such as rejecting the hand of co-star Seo Hyun at the press conference for the drama 'Time' at Seo Ye-ji's request.
Subsequently, text messages between the two revealed that Seo Ye-ji referred to Kim Jung-hyun as 'Kim Ddak-dak' and demanded that he treat his co-star coldly, causing even greater uproar.
After the controversy, Kim Jung-hyun also delivered an apology at an official event. Last year, after receiving the Best Actor award at the 'KBS Acting Awards', he bowed his head, saying, "Since I started acting, I have hurt many people and caused frowns with very bad and unacceptable behavior. I sincerely apologize."
