Canadian-Hong Kong actor Jin Kwan-hee (Edison Chen) is gaining attention due to an incident that occurred on a flight.
On the 19th, a Taiwanese media outlet reported that Jin Kwan-hee was involved in a disturbance on a flight from Tokyo to New York earlier this month.
According to the report, Jin Kwan-hee protested when a flight attendant instructed a Japanese passenger to disembark first. When the flight attendant explained that the Japanese passenger had a Diamond Card (VIP), Jin Kwan-hee reacted by shouting on the plane, "I also have a Diamond Card. What’s the difference between me and that person?" and threatened to have the flight attendant fired.
In response, Jin Kwan-hee's manager stated, "Jin Kwan-hee was retrieving his luggage at the time, and a passenger from the back was trying to push past," and added, "Jin Kwan-hee politely requested, 'Please wait a moment,' as the plane door had not yet opened."
Regarding the shouting, the manager explained, "When the flight attendant said that the passenger had priority to disembark because they were a Diamond Card member, Jin Kwan-hee mentioned that he was of the same status," and noted, "It seems there was a misunderstanding in communication between both parties."
Jin Kwan-hee's side also stated, "We are currently in continuous communication with the airline and are trying to ascertain the exact circumstances of the incident."
Born in Vancouver, Canada, Jin Kwan-hee debuted as an actor in 2000 and rose to stardom in Hong Kong with his role in the "Infernal Affairs" series. However, in January 2008, nude photos with top stars such as Zhang Baizhi and Zhong Yundong were leaked online, causing a stir in the Hong Kong entertainment industry.
After marrying top Chinese model Qin Shupei in 2016, he welcomed a daughter the following year.
