Broadcaster Park Soo-hong visited the orphanage he has supported for 24 years and donated 10 million won along with some goods.
On the afternoon of the 2nd, he visited the Aeshin Child Welfare Center (Aeshinwon) located in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province, and delivered a donation of 10 million won, 50 boxes of galbitang (500 servings), and 20 sets of kitchen equipment from Haikujin.
Park Soo-hong stated, “Rather than saying I helped Aeshinwon, I received greater strength and comfort through the Aeshinwon family,” and added, “Over the past few years, I have been building my own family and becoming a father, and I felt that I hadn’t been able to take care of Aeshinwon much, so I came. It was incredibly heartwarming to see the healthy children and the director and teachers.”
He also mentioned, “As the economy has become difficult, support for welfare facilities has been decreasing. It’s a regrettable situation where relying solely on government support has its limits,” and said, “We need to find ways to support not only the children but also the hardworking teachers. I will strive to provide more support, even if it’s small, and to raise awareness about the situation at Aeshinwon.”
