A woman in her 30s who wrote graffiti insulting singer BoA has been arrested by the police.
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul apprehended the woman, referred to as A, at around 10:30 PM on the 12th, and is investigating the motive and circumstances of the crime on charges of property damage and insult.
A is suspected of writing insulting graffiti about BoA at over ten locations, including public transport stops and electronic display boards in the Gangnam, Gwangjin, and Gangdong districts.
Previously, on the 11th, the police received a complaint from BoA's agency, SM Entertainment, and began their investigation.
In response, SM Entertainment stated, “Posting false information that damages the personality and honor of our artists, and acts of insult intended to publicly defame the artist are clearly criminal acts,” and added, “We will respond firmly and without leniency to such criminal acts, in accordance with our principles.”
