Gahi, a former member of the group After School, revealed that she experienced an emergency situation during the birth of her second child.
On the 11th, a video titled “Gahi's Parenting Talk: Raising Two Sons in a Jungle-like Environment, Tougher than Being an Idol” was released on the YouTube channel 'Sister-in-law is K.Will'.
On that day, Gahi reflected on her pregnancy with her second child, explaining, “I found out I was pregnant when we arrived in Bali on a trip with my husband and first son.”
She continued, “I felt something was off with my body, so I told my husband, ‘I’ve been feeling strange since last month.’ I took a pregnancy test in Korea, but it didn’t show positive twice. So, we just went on the trip.” She added, “After a long time, we went to Bali and had surfing plans, but on the first day of the trip, I really felt off. Fortunately, my husband had a pregnancy test, and it showed two lines (pregnant). I couldn’t do anything and just went on a prenatal trip.”
Gahi gave birth to her first son naturally and her second son via cesarean section. She recalled, “At that time, I was filming 'Superman Returns.' The filming was scheduled to align with my due date, but suddenly, in the middle of the night, I started bleeding heavily. I quickly wrapped myself in a shower towel and contacted the filming team. Despite it being early morning, the production team rushed over and set up filming at the hospital.”
She added, “I wanted to try for a natural birth instead of a cesarean, but the doctor said I had to have a cesarean. The placenta had to be completely torn for the baby to come out.” She shared the difficult process of giving birth.
Gahi also mentioned, “After giving birth to my first child, I breastfed for about 100 days. Then I went to exercise, but I couldn’t engage my abdominal muscles at all. It felt very strange, like a deflated balloon. I worked out for three hours a day to regain my core strength, and after not eating carbohydrates for three months, it started to come back a bit. However, with my second child, I didn’t want to push myself like that, so I took my time to recover.”
