Model Park Young-sun left a tribute mourning the first-generation fashion model Lee Hee-jae.
On the 10th, Park Young-sun posted on her SNS, "My senior model, Lee Hee-jae, has gone to heaven," and reminisced, "You held the top position from 1970 to 1990 and also worked as an artist. I still remember the first time I met you in 1987."
Park Young-sun expressed her condolences, saying, "You were so kind and always praised me as a baby. I hope you rest comfortably in heaven and continue to shine beautifully there."
Lee Hee-jae passed away on the 9th at the age of 73 after battling bile duct cancer. She was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in January 2022 and underwent surgery, but it was reported that the cancer recurred the following year.
The deceased was one of the first to introduce the profession of fashion modeling to the public, alongside Rubina and Kim Dong-soo. Her family stated, "She always said, 'If I were to be born again, I would want to be a model.'"
