From last year to early this year, the most-watched TV show in the world was the Netflix series ‘Squid Game 2’.
On the 29th (local time), American entertainment media Variety cited Nielsen's ratings survey to reveal the viewership rankings of TV shows (excluding sports) released from January last year to April this year.
As a result, ‘Squid Game 2’ recorded 27.1 million views within 35 days of its release, ranking first overall.
Second place was the Netflix series ‘Boy’s Time’ (19 million views), third place was CBS’s ‘Tracker’ (17.4 million views), fourth place was Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’ (17.3 million views), and fifth place was ABC’s ‘High Potential’ (16.1 million views).
This statistic includes viewership rankings for content from online streaming platforms as well as terrestrial and cable TV content. ‘Squid Game 2’ also topped the viewership rankings among the key demographic of adults aged 18-49, recording 17.4 million views.
The ‘Squid Game’ series ranks first and second in Netflix's all-time viewership rankings, with season 1 at 265.2 million views and season 2 at 192.6 million views.
The finale of the ‘Squid Game’ series, season 3, will be released on June 27. It consists of a total of 7 episodes and was filmed consecutively with season 2.
