Three weathercasters whose names were mentioned in the workplace harassment allegations against the late Oh Yoanna have re-signed contracts with MBC.

On the 22nd, MBC announced, "We have re-signed freelance contracts with the three weathercasters related to the Oh Yoanna incident." The contracts are made on a yearly basis. Originally, the contracts were supposed to be finalized at the end of last year, but they were postponed due to the controversy surrounding the late Oh's death. Their contract period will last until the end of this year.

Previously, MBC terminated the contract of weathercaster A, who was sued by the bereaved family, as of the 20th, based on the results of a special labor inspection by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. This action was taken after the Ministry announced on the 19th that it had determined there were acts of harassment against the deceased.

The Ministry explained, "Considering the significant emotional gap felt between seniors and juniors regarding guidance and advice, the deceased's continuous complaints of mental distress to close acquaintances, and the specific details recorded in the will, we concluded that the actions constituted harassment."

The deceased worked as a weathercaster at MBC but ultimately took her own life in September of last year after expressing her suffering from workplace harassment. The controversy arose when her will, which mentioned being harassed by colleagues, was made public.

The bereaved family filed a civil lawsuit against one individual identified as the perpetrator in December of last year at the Seoul Central District Court.
