The photoshoot of actors Jo Bo-ah and Lee Jae-wook has been revealed.
Jo Bo-ah and Lee Jae-wook, the leads of the Netflix series 'Tangeum', conducted a photoshoot for the June issue of fashion magazine 'Elle'. In contrast to the mysterious melodrama set in the Joseon Dynasty, the shoot was carried out in a modern mood, showcasing the chic charm of the two actors without reservation.
After the shoot, an interview was conducted. Jo Bo-ah expressed her attraction to the role of Jae-i in 'Tangeum', saying, "I was drawn to the affectionate relationship between Jae-i and Hong-rang, who appear as half-sisters. After reuniting as adults, a strange feeling blossoms between the two, but I wonder if there has been a work that expresses sibling relationships like this. Since I have a very good relationship with my real younger sibling, I could relate to it."
Lee Jae-wook commented on Hong-rang, "When I read the early script, I was curious about what kind of environment this character had gone through and why they became so sharp. It was a narrative beyond my imagination. Personally, I have a deep affection for the character Hong-rang. I wanted to understand and express this character the best."
Jo Bo-ah spoke about the charm of historical dramas, saying, "When I first appeared in a historical drama with 'Ma-ui', I felt the difficulties of the genre. After gradually digesting it in 'Gumiho: Tale of the Fox' and 'This Love is Irresistible', I gained the courage to challenge it again," revealing her passion for acting.
Lee Jae-wook stated, "This is my first time in a serious historical drama, not a fantasy one. There is a unique energy in historical dramas, and I felt a strong sense of belonging in that situation. It felt like I became one tree in the vast forest of the work."
'Tangeum' tells the story of Hong-rang, the heir of a merchant family who went missing in childhood, returning after 12 years. When asked what has not changed from 12 years ago to now, Jo Bo-ah replied, "I try not to lose my original intention. I tend to look for the positive side in any situation. In doing so, naturally, commendable things arise, and that leads to good relationships."
Lee Jae-wook shared, "I still have a curiosity for new experiences. I had a vague desire to do something where I could endlessly explore and learn, even 12 years ago. I think that curiosity has led me to the path of acting."
