‘One Day, I Will Be a Wise Resident’ (hereafter ‘Unsljeon’) overcame mixed reviews in its early stages and recorded its highest viewership ratings, achieving a successful conclusion.

In the final episode of tvN's weekend drama ‘Unsljeon’ aired on the 17th, residents Oh Yi-young (played by Go Yoon-jung), Pyo Nam-kyung (played by Shin Chia), Eom Jae-il (played by Kang Yoo-seok), Kim Sa-bi (played by Han Ye-ji), and Koo Do-won (played by Jung Jun-won) wrapped up a tumultuous year and welcomed the new year with a heartwarming ending.

In particular, the final episode recorded an average rating of 8.6% and a peak of 10% based on households in the metropolitan area, and an average of 8.1% and a peak of 9.2% nationwide, setting a new record for itself and ranking first in the same time slot across all channels, including terrestrial broadcasting. Additionally, in the target demographic of tvN, the ratings for men and women aged 20-49 were an average of 4.6% and a peak of 5.2% in the metropolitan area, and an average of 4.5% and a peak of 4.9% nationwide, also ranking first in the same time slot across all channels (based on paid platforms including cable, IPTV, and satellite / provided by Nielsen Korea).

This success can be attributed not only to the performances of the cast of ‘Unsljeon’ but also to the special guest appearances that served as a connection to the world of Yulje Medical Center, a spin-off of ‘Hospital Playlist’.

As the first-year residents, who had been full of mistakes during their year in obstetrics and gynecology, met various patients, mothers, and babies, they experienced heartwarming growth.

Oh Yi-young earned recognition from Professor Seo Jeong-min (played by Lee Bong-ryeon) while training with a mindset focused on caring for mothers and babies, and continued her blossoming romance with Koo Do-won. Pyo Nam-kyung experienced the joys and sorrows of life by saying goodbye to her first obstetrics and gynecology patient, who had taught her a lot, while also meeting new life. Eom Jae-il, with his warm heart and consistent effort, transitioned from being an invisible man, whom no one sought, to becoming a doctor that patients sought out, and even earned recognition from the notorious Professor Jo Joon-mo (played by Lee Hyun-kyun). He also confessed to Kim Sa-bi, who developed a more human side like Professor Ryu Jae-hwi (played by Lee Hyun-kyun).

Above all, the villain Myung Won (played by Kim Hye-in) failed to secure a professorship, while Chu Min-ha (played by Ahn Eun-jin) was appointed, providing a satisfying twist.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, tvN's ‘Ask the Stars’, which invested 50 billion won in production costs, ended with a poor rating of 2.6% amidst harsh criticism, followed by ‘Potato Research Institute’ and ‘Divorce Insurance’, which recorded disappointing ratings in the 1% range.
