Singer Song Ga-in has urged caution regarding a fraud case involving someone impersonating her manager.
On the 6th, Song Ga-in's agency stated, “Recently, a so-called ‘proxy purchase’ fraud method has occurred, where individuals impersonate our staff to extort money and goods. They approached small business owners, claiming to be Song Ga-in's manager, and requested that if they purchase wine from a certain company and prepare it, they would pay for it together during a gathering.”
They continued, “Our staff will never request money or goods from outside under any circumstances. If you receive a similar request, it is highly likely to be a crime, so please do not remit any money or respond.”
The agency also emphasized, “Please verify that the person is indeed our staff, and if you have suffered any damage, please report it to the police immediately.”
Song Ga-in rose to stardom through TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot' Season 1 in 2019. She has released hit songs such as ‘Gain-i-eora’, ‘Mom Arirang’, and ‘Seoul's Moon’. Recently, she opened a YouTube channel called ‘Song Ga-in’ to communicate with her fans.
