Jung Yong-hwa of the group CNBLUE revealed the story of being taken to the police station during a past busking event in Japan.
On the 1st, a video titled "Young K Crying and Dancing Was So Beautiful" was released on the YouTube channel 'Jung Yong-hwa's LP Room'.
Before his debut in 2009, Jung Yong-hwa went to study in Japan with Kang Min-hyuk, Lee Jong-hyun, and Kwon Kwang-jin from N.Flying, and they performed busking and club shows under the name 'Pine Tree'.
Recalling that time, Jung Yong-hwa said, "We did street live performances in Japan, not Korea. We were in Shinjuku, but there were very few people. I thought, 'Aren't we supposed to play in a bigger pond?' So I said, 'Guys, pack your bags. Let's go to Harajuku,' because there are a lot of people in Harajuku, right?"
He continued, "While we were busking in Harajuku, the police came. The police said, 'You can't do this here.' So we went to the police station."
Surprised by the mention of going to the police station, Young K asked, "Did you actually go to the police station? Didn't they just tell you to leave?" and Jung Yong-hwa replied, "We got caught."
Jung Yong-hwa also shared, "We were traveling without passports. So we each sat in separate rooms and were interrogated. Our manager brought the passports, and we were released," describing the tense situation.
Despite having been in a police station abroad, Jung Yong-hwa said, "It wasn't bad. They were very kind. I still remember that I had so little money that buying a drink from a vending machine was a luxury. But they gave me a cola. I was so grateful. Even though I did something wrong, I was thankful to be able to drink cola."
