Rapper Sik-K (real name Kwon Min-sik, 31), who confessed to the police about using drugs, has been sentenced to a suspended prison term in the first trial.
On the 1st, Chief Judge Ma Seong-young of the 7th Criminal Division of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Kwon to 10 months in prison, suspended for 2 years, for violating the Narcotics Control Act (marijuana) and other charges. He was also ordered to undergo probation and attend 40 hours of drug treatment lectures.
The court explained the reasons for the sentencing, stating, "The number of offenses is numerous, and as a famous singer, he has a high social influence," adding, "He deeply regrets his actions, and we take into account his confession regarding the marijuana possession charge."
Sik-K was indicted for allegedly using ketamine and ecstasy from October 1 to 9, 2023. He also faces charges for smoking marijuana on January 11 last year and possessing marijuana on January 13 of the same year.
On January 19 last year, he told a police officer working near the Seoul Regional Veterans Affairs Office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, that he intended to confess to drug use, leading to a police investigation.
