The male duo Melomance talked about the rumors of discord.

On the 23rd, a video titled "'We Even Blocked Each Other... Turn Off the Camera!' | Melomance Discord Rumors, Melomance Reconciliation Story, First Reveal of New Song, Icon of Resurgence [Naraesik]" was released on the YouTube web entertainment show 'Naraesik'.

Melomance were classmates from the 2010 class of Seoul Institute of the Arts. Kim Min-seok mentioned, "I have a close older brother, and we spent time together with four people at his house. We saw a Daybreak concert and thought it was so cool. We thought it would be great to form a band, and Jung Dong-hwan felt the same way, so we ended up working together."

Melomance gained explosive popularity with their song 'Gift' in 2017, but they faced a crisis due to rumors of discord and disbandment.

Park Na-rae brought up the rumors of discord between the two, asking, "Did you ever say, 'I really can't work with him'? I never really fought with Jang Do-yeon, but we did have a fight once," to which Kim Min-seok replied, "We weren't on good terms," and explained, "The better we did, the deeper the rift became."

He reflected on their feelings at the time, saying, "At first, we received a lot of attention, and I think we started to think about whose share that attention belonged to." Kim Min-seok admitted, "It got worse after 'Gift' did well. During 'Sugar Man', I was doing my own thing, and Dong-hwan was doing his own thing." Park Na-rae recalled, "I felt there was an awkward feeling. We were on the same path, but it felt like we were going separately."

Jung Dong-hwan said, "There were really a lot of childish things," and added, "Even when we were eating at a highway rest area, we tried to sit as far apart as possible, and we even blocked each other."

The discord between the two lasted for two years. Kim Min-seok shared, "A sister we worked with said, 'This is your last album before going to the military, so talk it out,' and when I went to the studio, I saw a side of Dong-hwan that I knew. He said, 'If that's what you mean, let's do it that way.' It was such a shock. It felt like I was meeting an old friend again."

After two years, they had a drinking session just the two of them and reconciled. Kim Min-seok said, "Before the sashimi came out, we each had a bottle of soju, and then we raised our glasses for a drink, and with each sip, it felt like time was reversing back to when we first started together," and added, "I ended up crying while talking."
