Comedian Moon Cheon-sik has apologized for appearing on a program with a clear political bias.
On the 22nd, Moon Cheon-sik posted an apology on Instagram. He explained, "Recently, while running a shopping host academy, I received an inquiry about participating in a survival program to discover junior shopping hosts, and I appeared without knowing what organization the shopping mall represented."
He added, "The name of the company that made the casting request was so ordinary that I had no idea there was something else going on," and stated, "My appearance on that channel was a one-time event, and now that I am aware of this matter, I would like to inform you that I have no plans to appear on that channel in the future."
Moon Cheon-sik also said, "It was my fault for not examining various details thoroughly. In the future, when I receive casting requests, I will carefully check what background the company has before proceeding. I apologize for causing any misunderstandings."
He continued, "It seems that the video I appeared in was uploaded to a channel with a clear political bias," explaining, "The opposing camp politically judged me, and as a result, I was misunderstood in a certain community, leading to debates about whether I am qualified as a broadcaster."
Finally, he stated, "I was a bit short-sighted. I apologize for causing misunderstandings," and added, "In the future, I will not rush into money-making opportunities without knowing who the production company or advertisers are. I will approach my work with the caution that befits my profession."
