Comedian Yoon Hyung-bin and YouTuber Banzoo will face off in the martial arts ring.
On June 28, at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul, Yoon Hyung-bin and Banzoo will compete in a martial arts match during the Gupne ROAD FC 073 event.
Yoon Hyung-bin made his professional debut in 2014 with ROAD FC. He entered the professional scene after an incident in 2011, when female fighter Lim Soo-jung appeared on a Japanese variety show and was attacked by three male comedians, resulting in an injury that required eight weeks of recovery. Banzoo stepped into the professional world with his debut match at Fighter 100 last December.
The rivalry began when Banzoo mentioned Yoon Hyung-bin. The day before his debut match last year, Banzoo said, “I was watching Fighter 100 and suddenly thought of Yoon Hyung-bin. I wanted to train for a year and then get in the ring with him,” expressing his desire to compete against Yoon Hyung-bin.
On December 29, during Gupne ROAD FC 071, Banzoo again expressed his wish to face Yoon Hyung-bin, saying, “I want to have a proper match with you, hyung.” In response, Yoon Hyung-bin stated, “The representatives of Fighter 100 and the president of ROAD FC offered me a legendary fight money that is lower than that of Jung Chan-sung but higher than that of Choi Doo-ho,” and added, “I understand that Banzoo is currently recovering from an injury, but once he is fully healed, I will do my best to compete with him,” accepting the challenge.
