Actor Seo Kang-joon revealed that he suspected he was adopted.
On the 17th, Seo Kang-joon, Yoon Ga-i, and Jo Bok-rae, the main cast of MBC’s ‘Undercover High School’, appeared on the YouTube channel ‘Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong-yeob’.
On this day, Jung Ho-cheol admired Seo Kang-joon, saying, “He looked very pretty on screen, but in real life, he has a masculine charm.” Seo Kang-joon replied, “My face changed after I came back from the military. I think my features have become a bit more defined. I don’t know why, but that’s how it turned out.”
Hearing this, Shin Dong-yeob praised, “I want to live just like Seo Kang-joon for a month. It’s a rare face in our country.” Yoon Ga-i agreed, saying, “We talked a lot about that on set. I want to live with that face.”
When Jung Ho-cheol asked if he was wearing contact lenses, Seo Kang-joon said, “I don’t wear lenses. My sister has slightly brown eyes, but my parents don’t, so I thought, ‘Does this make sense?’ I also didn’t resemble them much, so in high school, I even wondered if I was adopted.”
He continued, “When I was a little over twenty, I asked my mother, ‘I’m your biological child, right?’ My mother replied, ‘Don’t say strange things.’ I still haven’t done a paternity test,” which drew laughter.
Meanwhile, Seo Kang-joon also revealed the story behind his stage name. He said, “My real name is Lee Seung-hwan. When people first knew me as Seo Kang-joon, they frowned when I said my name was Lee Seung-hwan. They wondered why I had such a name when I look like Seo Kang-joon. But I’ve always been Lee Seung-hwan since I was born.”
Interestingly, Seo Kang-joon was named after the manager of Ha Jung-woo. He explained, “There’s a saying that if you take the name of a good actor’s manager, you’ll do well, so one day the head of the company said, ‘Your name is Seo Kang-joon.’ That’s how I became Seo Kang-joon.”
